Brian Ford graduated in May of 2002 with a major in Political Science. He fondly remembers participating in the Hands on DC work-a-thon in 1997. With a strong affinity for politics, Brian is currently employed with a government contractor in Washington DC, working for the Department of Justice.

When speaking of his education in DC, Brian notes that 7th grade was a particularly hard year for him, and credits his homeroom teacher for 8th and 9th grade, Patricia Bradford, with helping him turn his life around and stay on the right path. As an English teacher, she was hard on him in class, but in many ways she was like a second mother to him. "My life would be very different right now if I hadn't been transferred to her homeroom," says Brian.

Today, Brian continues to work with College Bound, delivering presentations to high school kids on how to apply for and finance their college educations. Brian's hero and role model is former President Bill Clinton, whom he met when he was in the 6th grade, and who inspired him to find ways to make a difference through politics.
